At Home with Tessa

My job keeps me super busy so I love to be comfortable at home. I live in a neighborhood called Highland Park in LA with my boyfriend. It's absolutely beautiful and feels far from the hustle of the city. It's full of things I've collected over the years—rugs and blankets from our inspiration trips in India and Morocco. I think it's important to build your style over time, you can't create the feeling overnight.

My favorite thing to do is have friends over for dinner — I'll cook a big meal and we'll open a few bottles of wine ... I can't think of a better way to relax. After the meal I like to light some incense or a candle (I recently got into candle-making so I always have a few lying around). I like that it "resets" the room and lets the night enter a new phase.
