At Home With Ramona

For Ramona Orley, membership director at über-hip coworking spot NeueHouse, Sundays are a chance to relax, settle in and contemplate the week ahead. We decide to meet for coffee and flower shopping at Gilly Flowers in Silverlake. Ramona chooses a cheerful bunch of orange marigolds to take home.

We hop in the car and zoom back to her home in Los Feliz which she shares with husband Jason Orley, a writer, and their adorable Australian Shepherd Cosmo.

After trimming the flowers we relax in the garden for a glass of wine (it’s before noon but who’s counting?). The ample backyard is landscaped with native plants that summon the cool desert fragrance of the Los Angeles mountains. Cosmo, a puppy bursting with energy, chases birds around the backyard.

Ramona ends the day listening to music or reading. The house has an instantly welcoming feeling - colorful furniture, art books spilling from shelves, loads of records, and a bowl full of polaroids of friends. It’s an inviting place, perhaps fitting for a woman who has a genuine love for her friends and new faces alike.
